Emily Collins | Founder, Host & Producer

Moving to Maryland's Eastern Shore in 2016, Emily experienced both the beauty of rural life and the desire to create a space where people could come together, share experiences, and build connections. With this goal in mind, she created Past & Currents, an in-person storytelling series that invites listeners to slow down, witness one another, and deepen understanding. 

Emily's love of storytelling was sparked by listening to This American Life with her dad while growing up. After graduating from DePaul University in Chicago, she built a career in media, working in Advertising Sales at Oprah Magazine and USA WEEKEND in Chicago.  After moving to Phoenix, she worked as a journalist and on-air host for Sequence Media Group, where she discovered her love of drawing out the experiences that shape people’s lives.
